Coco

PROFILE

As an illustrator, Coco’s background gives a unique insight into fashion. After spending five years studying fine art in Paris, she worked as a communication consultant for many leading fashion designers. In 2004 she moved to London to co found “getconfused” a
company which offers consultancy and creative solutions to clients from all around the world.

She began producing illustrations as a favour to friends in the fashion industry who needed them for lookbooks, magazines and websites. On the trail of those, she started to receive press interest which have spurred her to create imagery for publications spanning both the independent and mainstream press. Her inspiration comes in a wide variety of places and sources. Living between Paris and London she feels at ease with the visual landscapes of both cities. As art and fashion capitals, she feels they are a byword for innovation, creativity and metropolitan edge. As she was trained in the field of fine art, art & design seem to always influence her work but she tries to work from a wide range of sources from modern iconography. Bauhaus, Art Deco to artists as diverse as painter Salvadore Dali, photographers Guy Bourdin, Steven Meisel and Solve Sundsbo, designers Josef Albers or more recently M&M are amongst some of my strongest visual references.

She is constantly trying to experiment and merge classic techniques such as pencil, watercolor, pastel or Indian ink with the new computer processes. Then she composes the final montages in Photoshop. She believes that this hybrid work offers her an opening onto possibilities which she has not completely exploited. She likes to mix several techniques but aims for restraint and minimalism in the finished work as she likes the results achieved from combining these two approaches.

Tez Humphreys

PROFILE

Tez Humphreys lives in and works from his cluttered studio in the better half of Leeds, England, where ― in his mixed-media collages and graphic illustrations ― he scours for beauty in imperfections. Humphreys’ work has appeared in national and international publications such as Dazed & Confused, Computer Arts magazine, Esquire, and Anthem, among others. Though ostensibly a newbie in the world of commercial illustration at the prime old age of 23, he asserts that nothing will hinder him from realizing his ambitions in his chosen field. Augmenting Humphreys’ illustration work is a career at an upbeat advertising agency, where he absorbs valuable lessons in methods of deliverance and concept-building. He is currently working on various editorial commissions, and by night, produces large-scale handcrafted illustrations onto canvas for upcoming solo exhibitions in the UK and Europe.
