Leah Singer’s work spans many visual disciplines from printed matter to film. An interest in artist books led her to self publish copy (1997), a graphics only newspaper featuring silhouette designs. It is an ongoing project and is included in the artist book collection of The Museum of Modern Art.
Nike invited her to create a runners map leading up to the 2001 New York City marathon based on her newspaper publications. It went on to receive merit awards from The One Show and the Art Directors Club in New York as well as a Silver nomination from the D&AD in Britain.
Her live manipulated film performances have taken her around the world where she performs along with musicians including her husband Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth.
Her film and artwork have been featured at the Centre George Pompidou in Paris, PS 1 in New York and Colette in Paris.
In Japan she created the product launch for tasse tasse at Marui Dept. Stores in Tokyo and the Christmas 2001 campaign for Matsuya Ginza.
