Born in Germany, close to the border of Denmark., and currently lives in Berlin. Although Olaf studied graphic design in Dusseldorf, he has been influenced by American or African folk arts, and Japanese Ukiyoe.
While his creative method is traditional, keeping contrasting stance in the digital age, his very modern creations has bee assigned several, including London’s Bacardi Alcohols and East Berlin Stylist. His affluent colorful expression using acrylic paint is the charm of his artwork.
His works quite often involve fashion world, and his fashion illustrations are well received in the world. In February 2004, he received Lead Award, as well as Gold and Silver in the Illustration category. He was featured in the US magazine “3×3 Magazine (magazine of contemporary illustration)” for No.6, 2006, as well as on its cover.
Recently he has worked for the poster and pamphlet for ARENA StageARENA Stage theater in Washington, USA, and now working on his paintings for the Illustration 2006 exhibition which will be held in Berlin at the end of August.
