Joe Lynn is 3 dimensional paper collage artist, living in New York. She has a large collection of beautiful papers…in an almost endless variety of colors and patterns and likes to customize them by painting and patterning them as needed.She does a pencil and marker sketch, which is scanned digitally, and then reworks within Illustrator and Photoshop as needed. As she has a useful background as a graphic designer, she often works closely with art directors and photographers to “imbed” products such as jewelry or fashion items within her pictures. They are shot separately, then brought together digitally by the photographic retoucher. All the process of making images is done manually.Then a professional photographer lights and photographs the picture. When the piece is lit, dramatically or subtly, according to the purpose of the illustration, the play of light and shadow provide an intriguing quality of mystery and depth that make her work unusual and pleasing.
