Cookie Moon (Sara Laimon) has a varied creative practice ranging from film and music videos, graphic design and branding, to co-founding electronic musical label Unterman. This polymath creative approach extends to her illustration; with a style that was honed in the lockdowns of 2020, the illustrator takes cues from artist David Hockney, combined with references from fashion, literature and painting, and inspiration from real life experiences and Jewish philosophy. This meeting of the inner world and the physical world is a recurring subject in Moon’s illustrations, working quickly and intuitively, she creates painterly images drenched in atmosphere. Her work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and festivals, including ZAZ 10 Times Square (New York), Morgan Library and Museum (New York), and Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
