フランス在住アーティスト。パリのEcole Superior Art Graphique Estienne でグラフィックデザインと3Dコンピューターグラフィックを学んだ後、アートディレクターを経て、イラストレーターとして独立。アニメーション監督から始め、90年代初頭から3年間続いたWallpaper誌のレギュラー作品で、60年代ポップと未来的モダニズムが注目されて一躍メジャーイラストレーターになる。製図者の技術スキルを駆使し、デジタル合成された画像は熟練した手描きスケッチから始まります。それぞれのレンダリングにはZの細部へのこだわりと建築学的筆跡の魅力が表現されています。フランスの新幹線TGVのキャンペーン、アメリカのEvianではCM等の広告を手掛け、日本でも高島屋、ONWARD、東急不動産など、インテリアや建築モティーフとキャラクター性の強い作品はデザイン、広告関係者に支持されてきた。彼のキャラクター、建築空間、環境、ユーモアと優雅さのセンスは多くのアニメTVCMやフランスの子供向けアニメーション「Ratz」を含む漫画シリーズに含まれていて、成功を収めている。

Artist living in France. After studying graphic design and 3D computer graphics at the Ecole Superior Art Graphique Estienne in Paris, he worked as an art director and then became an independent illustrator. He started as an animation director, and became a major illustrator when his 60s pop and futuristic modernism attracted attention through his regular work for Wallpaper magazine, which lasted for three years from the early 1990s. Drawing on the draftsman’s technical skills, the digitally composited images begin with expert hand-drawn sketches. Each rendering showcases Z’s attention to details and architectural handwriting. He has worked on campaigns for the Shinkansen TGV in France and commercials for Evian in the United States, and in Japan, his works with interior and architectural motifs and strong character have been supported by design and advertising circles of Takashimaya, ONWARD, Tokyu Land Corporation, etc. His characters, architectural spaces, environments, and sense of humor and elegance have been shown in many successful animated TV commercials and cartoon series, including the French children’s animation “Ratz.”
